PGY-2 EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHARMACY RESIDENCY

  • The PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency builds on the Doctor of Pharmacy education and PGY-1 program. The program provides residents with ample learning, skills, and experiences in various emergency medicine areas. 
  • Upon completion of the PGY-2 program, residents are qualified to serve as a clinical pharmacy specialist in emergency medicine, clinical faculty, or continuation of training in a fellowship program.

Thank you for your interest in the Emergency Department at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMCSN). UMCSN is a comprehensive stroke center as well as the only nonprofit Level 1 trauma center, verified burn center, and multi-organ transplant center in Nevada. Last year, UMCSN provided outstanding emergency care and service to almost 113,000 patients. You will have the opportunity to work side by side with University of Nevada Las Vegas Emergency Medicine residents and precept students from Roseman University College of Pharmacy. RESIDENCY HIGHLIGHTS

Positions: 1

Duration: 12 months

Rotations: 7 required, 1 electives

Estimated Stipend: $66,372 per year (no FICA or state income tax)

RESIDENT REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nevada Pharmacist License recommended prior to the first day of residency
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy

PGY-2 EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESIDENCY interviews: Candidates will be asked to give a 15-minute presentation on an emergency medicine topic. Presentation slides should be emailed to the residency program one week prior to the interview date.
